The Depravity of Man

Why is there so much hate and violence in this world? “Why”, as Rodney King stated, “can’t we all just get along?” Some will say that it is because of the environment that some are raised in, such as poverty. We as humans blame everyone else for our problems but ourselves. One of the reasons why there are so many problems in this world is because of a doctrine known as the Depravity of Man. This means that we are born sinners on our way to hell. We sin on a daily basis that is why there are problems.

Read Genesis 2:16, 17 and Genesis 3:1-6

What did God command Adam not to do?

What did they do?

Do you think you would do what Adam and Eve did? Explain.

Read Psalms 51:5 and Romans 3:10, 11, and 23

At what point does man become a sinner?

When did sin enter the world?

What do you think causes problems in this world?

Memorize:

Romans 3:10

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Satan

He was created by God and was named Lucifer. God’s defeated enemy. He hates man and has been given power to attack believers. He is the picture of evil. He is the master mind behind most evil acts of man throughout history. He desires to destroy Israel and the church. He took 1/3 of the angels with him they are called demons or devils. Satan and his demons do warfare with God’s angels. Jesus defeated Satan at the cross. Satan after the 1000 years of peace will be cast into the lake of fire which will burn for ever and ever. He has already made his choice and can not repent.

Read Isaiah 14:12-17

What was in the heart of Lucifer that made him Satan?

Have you ever wanted to be lord of your life?

Read Job 1:6-12

What are some things that are odd to you in this passage of scripture?

Have you ever experienced a time in your life where you believe Satan was free to attack you? Share.

Read Matthew 4:1-11

What did Satan use to tempt Jesus?

What did Jesus use to respond to Satan?

Memorize:

Romans 3:10
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

The Flesh

The Kingdom of Heaven is like this: There were two men with two roads to follow the roads lead to the King’s palace. The first road was easy and had no hills or valleys to walk through. The second had hills and mountains and valleys on it. The first man said in his heart I want to take the road in which is easy with no hills on it. He came to the palace and the King greeted him saying, “I had a great plan for your life and I had great things for you in the Kingdom but you chose the wrong road come into my kingdom and know me.” The second man wanted to take the easy road but he said in his heart I want to please the King. He took the road with hills, mountains, and valleys. When he made it to the palace the King greeted him saying, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.”

The easy road of life is the way of your flesh. The hard road is the way of the Holy Spirit. Living by faith is not easy and the flesh will never choose it.

Read Romans 7:14-18

Share a time when the flesh overcame you to do bad.

Share a time when the flesh prevented you from doing good.

Do you realize there is a battle going on in you?

Read John 14:33

What does Jesus mean by overcoming the world?

Does Jesus live in you?

So then can you overcome your flesh?

Name some things that would help you overcome your flesh.

Memorize:
The World

The world is the system in which hates the things of God. It wants to be God. It is used by Satan to further his cause of destroying mankind. The world rewards sinners and makes light of those who fear God. The world wants tolerance of sin but not tolerance for believers. The world is full of compromise and we are not to compromise. The world system will one day be lead by Satan and will be destroyed by Jesus when He comes back with His saints.

Read John 17:13-20

Does a Christian get joy from the world? If not then where?

Check your heart even right now and think of where you get joy.

According to Jesus when you are a believer what does the world think of you?

Where did Jesus send you and what did He ask the Father to protect you from?

What is sanctification?

How do you get sanctified?

In verse 20 who does Jesus have in mind?

Day five

Religion and Tradition

Religion and tradition is a tool of Satan himself. He uses these things to get into your life. Yes religion and tradition is a tool of the devil. These two things appeal to the flesh and are worldly. Good Bible believing Churches can be destroyed by tradition and can ruin peoples lives saved and lost. When a Church or an individual uses tradition to judge something that is not in the Bible there is something wrong. Remember that Satan can and will use believers. Tradition is the way he uses believers.

Religion hates true Christianity. All religions are the same they go the way of Cain meaning that they work their way into heaven. True Christianity is that a man is saved by grace. Saved by what Jesus did on the cross and his resurrection. When a person receives that and that alone that person is saved. Satan uses religion to trick people and gets them to do what he wants. Why do Muslims hate Jews and Christians? It is a religion of Satan.

Read Colossians 2:8 and II Thessalonians 2:15

When is a tradition bad? Where do bad traditions come from?

When is a tradition good? Where do good traditions come from?

Read Matthew 15:1-9

When we add to God’s commandments what happens?

Read Genesis 4:3-8

Why was Cain’s offering rejected?

Can you think of some religions that are like Cain?

Throughout history Christians have been killed by religion and the world because behind them is the devil. Cain is a picture in the old testament of religion and he killed Abel because Abel did it God’s way. Pray for missionaries who are doing it God’s way to be protected from evil religions that kill Christians.

Memorize:

Romans 3:10

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Read Matthew chapter 23

What did God say to you?

Day one

I’ll be Back!!!

No this is not the Terminator speaking it is the Liberator speaking Jesus Christ. Jesus says He will come again first for His body then he will come back to earth. The Rapture is the Churches great hope and the Second Coming is the great hope for the Jews and all of creation. The Rapture will come before the tribulation. The tribulation is for Israel and the world and not for the Body of Christ.

The Rapture of the church will be an amazing event in the history of man. The Rapture is the event were God takes the Church out and turns back to the Jews. Saints who are dead in Christ will have their bodies meet their soul and spirit in the air and we who are alive will be instantly transformed and meet Jesus in the air and be with Him for ever. I look forward to that day.

The Second Coming is the event where Jesus comes back to earth with His saints and sets up His kingdom. At this coming all of Zion (Israel or the Jews) will be saved. The Jews will finally have the land they were promised by God. They will have there King and Messiah Jesus. I can’t wait for this day to happen the Jews have been through so much in history. The time before Jesus comes back will be very hard on the Jews and on anyone who puts there trust in Jesus. Many will die for the name of Jesus. 2/3 of the Jews will be slaughtered in Israel after the Antichrist claims to be God. The tribulation will be mans worst time since the flood. It is God’s judgment on the world and it is Satan’s time to try to defeat God. Satan loses because Jesus comes back with His saints and they defeat the armies of Satan.

Read John 14:2 and 3, Acts 1:9-12

1. What are the two things Jesus promises a believer?

2. What did the two men say to the men of Galilee (disciples)?

3. Where did Jesus leave from?

Memorize:

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Read Acts chapter 1
The Thief in the Night

Jesus when He comes for His church he will come as a thief. He will take from the world the only thing that holds back evil. We are called by Jesus the salt and the light of the world. This makes us a spiritual necessity and Jesus is coming to take it from the world. He is called the thief in the night because no one knows when He will come for his church. The Father is the only one who knows. This puts a Christian in a state of wanting to be ready for His coming. Meaning to be pure and doing what God wants him or her to do. He could come for the church at anytime.

Imagine what will happen when Jesus takes the salt and light out of the world.

Read I Thessalonians 5:2, 9, 10, and 11

1. How does Jesus come?

2. Who is appointed to the wrath to come?

3. What is the wrath to come?

4. Can a believer be appointed to the wrath of God?

Memorize:

Day three

The Rapture

I believe the Bible teaches a pre-tribulation rapture. The church will not go through the tribulation. During the tribulation God’s wrath is poured out onto the earth. We are not children of wrath. The wrath of God was poured out on Jesus at the cross. When you put your trust in Jesus you escape the wrath of God and those who do not believe will go through God’s wrath.

The Rapture is also the point where the church age is finished and God turns back to Israel. God has a special plan for Israel. God has promised the Jews their land and their King and Messiah. At the end of the tribulation all of Israel will put their trust in Jesus. This is when God will fulfill His promise to His people.

Read I Thessalonians 4:13-18 and Revelation 4:1

1. What is the similarity in these verses?

2. In the chapters before Revelation chapter 4 who is God talking to?

3. What is happening to John?

4. Notice in Revelations 4:1 the phrase “and I will show thee things which must be hereafter” what is the hereafter?

When you read Revelations chapters 4-22 there is no reference to the church here on earth but there are many to the Jews.

Read Romans 11:24 and 26

1. Will the Gentiles be grafted out?

2. What are some of the things that will happen at the fullness of the Gentiles?

3. What nation will be grafted back in?

4. At this time who is God working through?

5. Who will He work through after the fullness of the Gentiles?

Memorize:
